Applied Kinesiology in Denver
When you feel “off” in your body but your tests look normal, it can be frustrating. Maybe the same muscle keeps getting strained, your knee or shoulder never quite feels stable, or your energy dips even though you’re trying to stay healthy.
Applied kinesiology can help connect the dots between your muscles, nerves, and organs so things finally start working together again. At The View Chiropractic, we use this gentle, hands-on system to find what your body specifically needs instead of guessing. Dr. Steffens has received his official certification from the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK).

What Is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied kinesiology (AK) uses precise muscle testing to see how well different parts of your body are working and communicating. Dr. John Steffens first experienced AK at age 15, when it helped him recover quickly from a soccer knee injury that was supposed to keep him on crutches for six weeks. That experience led him to dive deep into AK from his first trimester at chiropractic school, attending ongoing seminars to master accurate muscle testing.
How Applied Kinesiology Helps
During applied kinesiology testing, Dr. Steffens gently challenges specific muscles and watches how they respond, revealing stress patterns in your nervous system and organs.
This whole‑body view can help uncover links that may show up as recurring muscle weakness or instability, sports injuries that keep coming back, neck, back, or joint pain that doesn’t match your X‑rays, or low energy and slow recovery from stress. Once the weak links are clear, he can recommend focused chiropractic adjustments, specific home exercises, and, for established patients, targeted nutritional or herbal support.
